Financial Aid Office at Citrus College

Citrus College Financial Aid Mission Statement
The Financial Aid Office and its staff are dedicated to fostering support that encourages and promotes financial aid programs that remove financial barriers to ensure access to all students in pursuit of academic excellence, economic opportunity, and personal achievement.

Financial Aid Location and Office Hours
The Financial Aid Office is located on the first floor of the Student Services (SS) Building, between the Admissions and Records Office and cashier windows.
Office hours are Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Due to staffing hours, we are only able to serve students who are up to our counter by closing time, not just in line (should there be one), so plenty of time should be allowed.

Submitting financial aid office forms can be done by postal mail or in person ONLY. Students are required to print all financial aid office forms from the Citrus College website. The Financial Aid Office will no longer have these forms available for pick up at the front counter. All forms must be filled out completely and signed before they are submitted to the office. Failure to do so will cause a delay in completing the student's financial aid file.

Return to Title IV (R2T4) Policy Change for 2013-2014 Award Year

The Financial Aid Office would like to inform you of a change to the 2013‐2014 Institutional Return to Title IV policy. This policy applies to all financial aid students who receive Title IV funding and then withdrawals or stops attending ALL of their courses. Please read the following notice regarding the changes.

The Financial Aid Office strongly recommends students check their Citrus College email account frequently, as it is the primary means of communication between the Financial Aid Office and the student.

The recently passed California Dream Act comprising new state laws - AB 130 and AB 131 - have extended eligibility for certain types of institutional and state aid to students, including undocumented students who qualify for benefits under another California law, AB 540, which exempts certain students from being required to pay nonresident tuition.

Important Financial Aid Information For Pell Grant Eligible Students

As of July 1, 2011, Federal Regulations require that institutions ensure that Pell Grant recipients have funding resources accessible to them in order to obtain books and supplies within the first seven days of the term. Therefore, the Citrus College Financial Aid Office, in collaboration with the Citrus College Owl Bookshop, have complied with this regulation, which allows Pell Grant recipients to have access to their financial aid funds during this seven day period in order to make such purchases. Any transactions not covered by financial aid funds is the purchaser's responsibility. After the seventh day, the amount spent at the Citrus College Owl Bookshop and any authorized fee deductions will be deducted from the student's financial aid and the remaining balance will be mailed to the student in the normal manner. Students will need to review the financial aid "disbursement information" on the Citrus College Financial Aid Office website to obtain the estimated disbursement dates.
